The Channel Tunnel is a 50.5-kilometre undersea rail tunnel linking Folkstone, Kent in the UK with Coquelles, Pas-de-Calais in northern France beneath the English Channel at the straight of Dover. At the time of construction it was one of the largest infrastructural projects in the world, with a peak labour force of 15,000 and a cost equivalent to € 12 billion today. As a leader in UK switchgear industry, Anord secured the contract for the complete LV power distribution & control system, comprising of power switchboards and ventilation controlgear. One of the key successes of the project was Anord's abillity to work with both the French and English consortia members, completing work at both ends of the tunnel.
