Scope of Supply

At a capital cost of $ 518 million, Runcorn TPS is one of the largest combined heat and power plants in the UK, treating up to 420,000 tonnes of solid fuel derived from household waste, and supplying 270,000 megawatt hours of electricity and 500,000 tonnes of steam every year to the Greater Manchester area.

The complex nature of this project meant that Anord were well positioned to deliver the backbone of the process control equipment. In 2010, Imtech-Suir selected Anord as their preferred supplier and since then we have completed both phase 1 and 2 of the scheme.

Approved by the UK’s  leading EfW consulting engineer Fitchner, Anord successfully provided the detailed design, manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning of the entire LV switchgear and controlgear package, including 4 large intelligent Power Distribution / Motor Control Centres, Multiple PLC panels, RIO panels and Busduct Installation.
